Who Can be Baptized at Immaculate Conception Church?

The Roman Catholic Church instructs through the Code of Canon Law that Baptisms normally should take place in the parish where the person or his/her parents are registered as parishioners/members, unless a just reason suggests otherwise. (Canon 857.2) In case of a just reason which justifies the administration of the sacrament out of your parish community, please contact Fr. Wellington.

General Instructions
  • The Roman Catholic Church recommends the bridesmaids not to start a life together without the Sacrament of Marriage. The regular process is to talk to Fr. Wellington, submit the required documents, check the availability of a suitable date and attend the Marriage Preparation provided either by the parish or by the Archdiocese of Boston.
  • Considering social challenges which imposed a different outcome, if the couple is already living together, the process is similar. Please schedule a meeting with Fr. Wellington, submit the required documents, check the availability of a suitable date and attend the Marriage Preparation provided either by the parish or by the Archdiocese of Boston.
  • If you are not civilly married, Fr. Wellington will request you to go to the City Hall and request a Marriage License. The religious ceremony in this case has double validation: civil and religious.
  • Those already civilly married can talk to Fr. Wellington to convalidate their union as a Sacramental Marriage, if both bridesmaids are Baptized and under canonical standards. If one or both are impeded to married by the Church, please talk to Fr. Wellington and he will help you.
  • No priest of the Roman Catholic Church is authorized to marry a couple without civil validation. It means, if one of both bridesmaids have an immigration process which impedes one or both parties to get married, the Church is not authorized to proceed only with a religious marriage. In case of doubt, please talk to Fr. Wellington.
  • For any other situation, feel free to talk to Fr. Wellington.
